OK... no idea if this info will help anyone considering upgrading from
System X to System Y. I see people posting quite often asking if they should
upgrade or not and if so, to what. So... maybe this will help.

3dMark 05 scores from 2004-08 thru 2006-01

2004-08
FX-51 (Athlon 64 2.2ghz)
nVidia 5950 Ultra
Score: 1253

2004-10
FX-51 (Athlon 64 2.2ghz)
nVidia BFG 6800 GT OC
Score: 5111

2005-02
Dual Opteron 250 (Athlon 64s 2.4ghz)
nVidia BFG 6800 GT OC
Score: 5362

2006-01
Dual Opteron 252s (Athlon 64 2.6ghz)
nVidia XFX 7800 GTX 256
Score: 8931

Prolly best info out of this small data set is the move from 5950 Ultra to
6800 GT OC changed my 3dMark 05 score from 1253 to 5111!

So now I've moved to 3dMark 06 and best I can get with this system is score
of 5086. If 3dMark 05 still works next time I upgrade, I'll use it again so
I can compare apples to the apples you see above.
